Lulit Price
|
Lulit is a 19 year old junior at Duke University in Durham, NC. She is the President of Kids Helping Needy Kids, and sponsors a girl named Jerusalem Amde. Lulit is the oldest founder of Kids Helping Needy Kids.
”Being a KHNK sponsor gives a sense of self-worth. It makes me feel like I am making a difference in someone’s life. These are children who are not as lucky as we are, so it is good to share what we have. I enjoy assembling care packages around Christmas and Easter; I know that the kids we are helping greatly appreciate this. I cannot wait to go back to Ethiopia and see the effects our aid has had on these children’s lives.”

Mehron is a 17 year old senior who attends The Calverton School in Huntingtown, MD. She is the secretary and Vice-President of Kids Helping Needy Kids, and her sponsor child is named Samrawit Misganaw.
"Being a KHNK sponsor is really a joy. I love being a sponsor because it helps me realize that the children who we are helping out are not so different from us. I see similarities between myself and a girl named Jerusalem that we sponsor. She is my age and we both love to dance. As a KHNK sponsor and co-founder, I can say that helping these kids is definitely an eye-opening experience for me, and I love doing it.”

Luladay Price

Luladay is 12 years old, and in the 6th grade at The Calverton School in Huntingtown, MD. She is the head of the Junior Fundraising Committee of Kids Helping Needy Kids, and her sponsor child is named Mekdes Worku.
”Well, I like being a KHNK sponsor because I saw the kids’ faces when we gave them clothes and small gifts when we were in Ethiopia in 2003. It made me smile, because they were happy, and that made me happy. I like doing this because it is all for the kids. I can just see their faces in my mind, when they get their clothes. I can’t wait to go back, so I can give them their stuff in person. This is a wonderful experience for me, and I like helping these kids.”
